[3.3.x] Support Forum • Re: Cannot Post because my IP has been blocked

I just recently experienced the same thing: everything was fine, I changed nothing, then all of a sudden, I couldn't post. I wasted a lot of time trying to solve the issue with both my ISP and forum host, and neither were of any help.

The hint was how the warning is nicely presented within the forum's posting page, not a whole-page Windows warning as if an external process took over. This suggested that the warning is being generated from within this forum's software. Another hint was that the warning occurs only on this forum and nowhere else I post (granted, that's not many places, but still). I finally searched here and presto - here was the fix. Of course, I'm still blacklisted on that site for some reason. Thing is, I don't have any spam servers, and am not knowingly spewing useless stuff. A buddy suggested something that happened to him, that a spammer got blacklisted and changed his IP address. The freed-up IP address is then made available for reassignment, so perhaps I got stuck with it.

My frustration is that neither my ISP and forum host suggested disabling it from within PHPBB, but I guess it's on me to know what settings are available, being Admin!
